On MAY 28, 2008 I wrote about how a local 7-year-old girl seemed to be winning the battle over a brain tumor. Read what her family did here.
I'm sad to say little Ella Hope did lose the battle. She will be missed by all who she shared her short life with.
Ella Hope Hauschildt, 7, of Lakeville passed away peacefully after a courageous 11 1/2 month battle with Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) a rare brain tumor. Ella was proceeded in death by her sister Emmerson Joy and her Nana Lola Curtis. She will be missed by her loving parents John and Erika , her little brother Caden, her Papa Bill Curtis, her Grandparents Betty and Jack Seidl, Wayne and Patti Hauschildt, her Aunts and Uncles Laura and John Lange, Lisa and Gregg Kruse, Kirsten Curtis and Jim Laitnen, Lori Mattson, her cousins Jordan Lange, Mackenzie Kruse, Carter Lange, Morgan Matson, Wyatt Kruse, Paige Matson, Quinn Kruse, Bodhi Laitenen, her best friend Taylor Glimsdahl along with Team ELLA and many wonderful friends.
Ella was a vibrant little girl who loved life. She spent the majority of her time dancing, singing, reading, writing, drawing and most of all being outside. She attended Lakeview Elementary and was blessed by wonderful teachers so much that she longed to be a teacher herself when she grew up. Little did she know that she fulfilled that dream by teaching all of us to live life to the fullest everyday and to not worry about the small stuff. She will be forever in our hearts.
