Mom's at the amusement park with kids....

A mom and her son are at an amusement park running from one ride to another. This mom is close to 50, has a long pony- tail swinging from side to side, and wears shorts, t-shirt and sandals. She is fit and trim with a little bit of summer tan. She wears no makeup because of her healthy natural glow. She loves amusement parks and the roller coasters. Everyone she and her young son pass notice the fun these two are having. They laugh together as they talk about the last ride they were on. Their map of the park is wet from the Log Ride. The only breaks they take are for the picnic lunch they packed and the bathroom stops. They want to ride every roller coaster, all 7 of them, at least 3 times. After at least 6 trips around the whole park they call it a day. Not only did they both have a blast the boy will remember these outings with his mom and tell his kids how when he was a little boy his mom….

Other moms are struggling to keep up with the kids. They (moms) are tired and crabby. Many have stopped to rest on the benches as the kids are begging to ride just one more roller coaster. The Mom is sick after the last Xtreme Swing ride too soon after the corn dogs they ate for lunch. After looking at her watch she's surprised to realize they've only been at the park 3 hours. The park starts to clear out after lunch because the kids are too energetic for these tired moms to keep up with. The kids are frustrated and feel like they were ripped off, it was supposed to be a fun day not a slow boring 3 hours. They can't help but think about that other lady and her son. It looked like that kid was the luckiest kid at the park. Their mom doesn't feel any better. She feels guilty about not having the energy to keep up with her child at the amusement park. "What can I do about it?" she asks herself.

I used to be Mom #2.
Now I'm happy to say I am Mom #1. The best part is making the childhood memories for my son. See what I did to regain my energy.

  1. I think I was one the mothers you saw sitting and trying to keep the kids together. I'm going to give you a call. I live in St Paul.
